ABOUT ME!

My name is Kathy and I am originally from Vietnam. I have been living in Holland for 5 years.

I love this place: the nature, the people, the culture, and the lifestyle…everything here is still so special for me.

I also have my Dutch naturalization, but of course, only after finishing all the obligations and examinations necessary to achieve it.

Regarding the Dutch language, I have my B2 certification, representing an advanced level of language fluency. Well, I did need to study hard and do my best to achieve that. During this process, I faced lots of questions concerning this language. As you might know, Dutch is not an easy language. There are plenty of rules for verbs, nouns, sentences and of course again they also have numerous exceptions which do not follow any rules at all. The only thing one can do is to memorize the rules and practice. You know the saying: “Practice makes perfect.”

Because I have been through this learning process, I completely understand the difficulties and concerns of learning this language. I have learned many things and have made plenty of notes for myself. That’s why I made this channel, to share with you my experience as well as give you some tips while learning Dutch grammar and Dutch expressions.

Furthermore, I also want to share with you some useful tips to help you to integrate into Dutch society by getting some basic knowledge about their society, culture, lifestyle. For instance:

·       What are some typical Dutch dinner dishes?

·       What kind of food can you expect when you enter a Dutch snackbar? or

·       How do Dutch people celebrate their typical national holidays like: King’s Day, New Year’s Eve, Easter…etc… or birthdays? and

·       Which criterium do you need to meet if you wish to get a permanent resident permit or even Dutch nationality?

I hope you like my articles. I can’t wait to hear your comments and receive your reactions.
